Getting Conditionally Admitted to Practice

A written application must be filed with the Clerk of Court

in order to appear as a federal government attorney.


Eligibility:

  • Must be an attorney who is a member in good standing of the bar of any state and who is employed by the United States, or one of its agencies in a professional capacity.  (General Rule 2)

Procedure for Admission:


Basic Requirements:  (General Rule 2)

  • Be employed as an attorney for the United States.
  • Provide verification from one of this district's Assistant U.S. Attorneys that you are an attorney for the United States. AUSA Verification Form
  • Sign oath before a Notary Public.
  • Admission is conditional for as long as you are employed as an attorney for the United States.

Notification of Admission:

  • Once your application is approved, you will be added to the case and receive a certificate of admission by mail.
