Brian is a partner in the Seattle office of Merchant & Gould P.C., where he focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation. He is a registered patent attorney who has over fourteen years of litigation experience, including experience litigating mechanical, electrical, biotechnology, chemical, and computer software patents. He also has significant experience litigating trademark and unfair competition cases. He has practiced before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and numerous United States District Courts. He has served as a court-appointed expert to consider both patent claim interpretation and motions for summary judgment concerning patent infringement and validity. Before entering private practice, Brian served as a law clerk in both federal and state courts. In addition to his private practice, he is an adjunct Professor of Law at Seattle University School of Law, where he teaches Patent and Trade Secret Law. |
