Reimbursement and Payment Information for Jurors
A check will be mailed to you within two weeks of serving as a juror. You are only paid for days you are actually required to appear during your term of jury service.

Attendance Fee

  • $40 per day - for each day that you appear ($50 after the 10th day, if applicable).

REIMBURSEMENT OF TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES

Driving Mileage

  • 55 cents per mile is paid round-trip from your home to the courthouse.
  • Map out how many miles you live from your home to:               

                Seattle courthouse  - Tacoma courthouse

Bus Fare

  • You will be paid the full driving mileage rate above even if you choose to take public transportation rather than drive.

Toll Bridges

  • Fees are reimbursed for the full amount.  A receipt is not required.

REIMBURSEMENT OF OVERNIGHT EXPENSES

Staying in a Hotel

  • You are reimbursed a flat rate per night depending on which court you are summoned to appear.   Seattle - $230.00    Tacoma - $174.00 

Staying with Family or a Friend

  • You are paid $71.00 (Seattle) and $61.00 (Tacoma) to stay at a personal residence rather than at a hotel.

Partial Subsistence - (travel home day)

  • You are paid $71.00 (Seattle) and $61.00 (Tacoma) for any day you are traveling home after staying overnight to cover meals and other miscellaneous expenses.
