Do you have a hardship with serving?
- You may request that your jury service be postponed. Or you may be eligible for a permanent excuse.
Last minute family or medical emergency?
- If are scheduled to appear next week and you have a family or medical emergency, contact the jury staff as soon as possible by sending us an e-mail and explain why you are unable to report. You may not hear back from us over the weekend, but you can assume that your request is granted.
- Last minute work or financial hardships are not permitted. Last minute hardship means it's Friday night or Saturday or Sunday and you are scheduled to appear next week. Such hardships needed to be addressed prior to confirming that you need to report. You'll have to explain your hardship to the judge in the courtroom during the jury selection.
Getting to the U.S. Courthouse
