Documents must be in Portable Document Format (PDF) to be accepted by the Electronic Case Filing system.

To convert documents, you will need BOTH:

• a scanner with a conversion program AND

• software to convert a word processing document to PDF.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is used for viewing documents, not converting documents to PDF.

Does ECF
accept large documents?

What does this error message:

“Document is not  a
well-formed PDF document." mean?

• If PDF conversion software is not included with a word processing program, you must install the software.

• Before transmitting to the court, you should preview the PDF formatted document.
