Focus of Practice
Labor and Employment; litigation; class actions
Over the last 22 years, I have litigated virtually every type of employment dispute that exists and I have represented nearly every type of client, including private sector employers, public sector employers, labor unions, and individual employees. I represented large corporate and government employers as a partner at Perkins Coie LLP until I switched sides in 2007. I co-founded HKM Employment Attorneys LLP, a law firm dedicated to representing the rights of employees and which now has offices in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and Denver. In my current practice, I advocate for workers in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits across the Western United States and I serve as a neutral mediator for the settlement of employment disputes. I have the honor of being listed in Best Lawyers in America and Washington Super Lawyers. I fully understand the challenges faced by attorneys who represent employees and the unique intricacies of sustaining a plaintiffs practice. I also know how complex and difficult it is to represent the rights of employers. I draw on these experiences to bring together counsel and parties from each side, to exchange information and ideas, and to foster and promote the resolution of disputes.
