Judge Tana Lin
Clerkship
Judge Lin does not expect to have any law clerk openings until at least the Fall of 2026. When she begins her selection process, she will post a notice here on this court webpage and on OSCAR. Applications received outside of a posted selection period will generally not be considered. Applicants who have submitted unsolicited application materials are encouraged to reapply during the posted selection period for any future clerkship postings. To be considered for a clerkship with Judge Lin, applicants must have at least one year of prior federal clerkship experience or two years' litigation experience after graduating from law school (or some equivalent combination of experience) when applying.
Externship Opportunities
Judge Lin offers part-time externship opportunities during the Fall and Winter/Spring terms of the academic year. Fall Externships, which run between September and December, are reserved for 3L law students from the University of Washington School of Law, while Winter/Spring Externships, which run between January and April, are reserved for law students from Seattle University School of Law. Judge Lin seeks candidates with strong legal research and writing skills, a demonstrated commitment to public service, and a passion for expanding access to justice in our legal system.
