Externs

Judge Lin is not accepting applications for externs at this time. Generally, during each school year, Judge Lin will host one part-time 3L extern from the University of Washington School of Law in the Fall, and one part-time 2L or 3L extern from Seattle University School of Law in the Spring. When she begins her selection process for these externship opportunities, she will post a notice here on this court webpage and will forward the information to the relevant school’s Externship Office. Additionally, the Western District of Washington regularly partners with the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington to provide judicial externships to law students who are underrepresented in the legal profession. The application period for the Western District of Washington's Summer Diversity Externship Program is typically between December through February each year. This is a summer externship that typically starts between late May and mid-June depending on the students' law school terms. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.
